Welcome

Just a note to say Hello and "officially" welcome you to my blog.
You never know what you'll get here - some days laughter, some days tears. You may hear about mountains of dirty laundry or perhaps the craziness of 5+ kids.
"Ya just never know!" But I'm sure glad you stopped by..and I invite you to kick back, grab a cuppa coffee and see "what's up with that crazy family in the south"

Merry Christmas in July!!

Well - it's 6 months away from Christmas - here's my question to you...
What does Christmas MEAN to you?
What is one of your finest Christmas memories?
What would be the ULITMATE family tradition to have for Christmas?
I'll post my answers later....first I want to see yours ;)

To Me, Christmas means the amazing GIFT of Jesus. Nothing can top that!

Many years ago, my 2 sons and I were talking about Jesus' birthday, and what He might like. The best thing we could come up with was sponsoring a child. Over the years, I have sponsored 6, my oldest son is on his second, and my youngest just started with his first. This 'gift to Jesus' has also been a gift to us. The letters, pictures and progress reports are so heartwarming.
Last April, was truly Christmas for us. The third child I sponsored, was accepted through a mission program to attend a Christian college here in the US. That's a BIG DEAL to a young girl from Uganda. I'm hoping to meet her soon.

So, sorry for the long post, but that pretty much sums up what Christmas means to me. Of course, I like the music, food, decorations and gathering of family, too.

OK, I am laughing so hard about the Spotted Dick comment. Good to know I'm not alone laughing about this stuff. Or is it the 5 children that cause me such insanity???
Great to hear from you, fellow Mom! :)
